Linocut with Otto Dünne (Weiden)
Fr., 12.06.2026, 14:00-18:00
Sa., 13.06.2026, 10:00-18:00
Su., 14.06.2026, 10:00-16:00

Beginners and those with previous experience can learn the basics and experiment with linocut, a relief printing technique. Participants will create black-and-white and multicolour prints using up to three plates. Over the course of three weekend sessions, participants will develop their own creative ideas with guidance and support, then prepare them for the printing press. Printing technology in particular opens up countless opportunities for experimentation and stimulating work. The interaction between ‘beginners’ and advanced students is very stimulating, both through the exchange of experiences and simply through the opportunity to ‘watch’.

Course fee per participant: €115 plus material costs
Please bring: drawing utensils such as pencils and coloured pencils, ruler.

More about Otto Dünne
Otto Dünne came to art late in life. He was almost sixty years old when he began to pursue his artistic interests. Art provided the ideal balance to his stressful job as a civil engineer. Dünne is now retired and can devote himself fully to his passion. He acquired the necessary skills in courses and training programmes on watercolour painting and various art printing techniques. To realise his ideas, the Weiden native has set up a proper art printing workshop in his basement. Otto Dünne's work includes watercolours, pencil and ink drawings, copperplate prints, etchings in various techniques, woodcuts, acrylic paintings and collages.  His favourite motifs are cityscapes, landscapes, plants and flowers. Compositions with graphic elements and picture stories.

Otto Dünne gives courses in watercolour painting and various relief and intaglio printing techniques. He has been a member of the Oberpfälzer Kunstverein (OKV) Weiden and a jury member since 2008. He regularly participates in group and solo exhibitions in the region and beyond.
