Berit Hüttinger

26.10.25 – 01.12.25
Partner: Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Amherst, US

Writer, photographer and designer Berit Hüttinger dreamed of exploring foreign worlds even as a child. Her initial career aspirations of becoming an astronaut or archaeologist were ultimately followed by a more down-to-earth degree in communication design.
Since then, her thirst for discovery has led to adventurous journeys, which are impressively documented in richly illustrated book projects.

Berit Hüttinger's book publications to date:

  • Roadtrip mit Frau Scherer (Road Trip with Mrs. Scherer) – A four-wheel drive adventure from the Adriatic to the Altai (Delius Klasing Verlag)
  • Mit dem Oldtimer durch Westafrika (Through West Africa in a Vintage Vehicle) – Desert, voodoo, viruses, broken springs (Pietsch-Verlag)

She has also published numerous other texts in magazines and anthologies, including Allradler, Unterwegs und Off Road - Abenteuer pur (Pietsch-Verlag).

Berit Hüttinger studied communication design at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg. International artist-in-residence stays have taken her to Virginia (USA), Monaghan (Ireland) and Pecs (Hungary).
