Johnny Linder

02.04.24 – 30.04.24
Partner: Villa Paula, Klatovy/Klenová, CZ

Johnny Linder pursues a transdisciplinary artistic practice that moves between image-generating, object-based and performative processes and is mostly based on the use of sensitive and ephemeral materials, bodies and time.

He often works with layers, instability and materials from the field of analog photochemical processes, whose performativity and reactive potential he relates to the human body. In general, his works arise from the momentum of states that cannot be completely controlled, combined with the desire to capture precisely these states; they are visualizations of ephemeral processes, a visualization of states of change, fragments of feelings and things that are difficult to grasp.

Linder's work is dedicated to the unfinished, the ambiguous, and the fleeting. It is mostly about sensitization, the potentiality of what is not, and the delicate traces of what was.

Johnny Linder's works have been exhibited in institutions in several countries and are part of the collections of the Library of the University of Applied Arts Vienna (AT), the Art and Museum Library Cologne (DE), The collection of Princeton University (US) and the Galerie Klatovy / Klenová Collection (CZ), among others.
