Lilian Robl focuses on language in her text-based video works. The starting point is usually a single term that raises questions about its linguistic, visual and figurative dimensions. Robl combines theoretical, autobiographical, literary and philosophical approaches into a research-based, interdisciplinary practice in which thinking and image production interpenetrate.
She graduated in 2019 as a master student of Prof. Alexandra Bircken at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and has been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships, including the working scholarship of the Kunstfonds Foundation, the federal scholarship for the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris and the VIDEODOX Prize. Her works are shown in exhibitions, at film and video festivals as well as in literary contexts.
