As a sculptor, Oni Weber has a fondness for textiles, metal, plastic and air. Inertia and shell. Society and change.

Wordplay and symbols serve as an entry point for a deeper engagement with the evolving perception of nature, consumer society and the contemporary trend of exhaustion and saturation in Western societies.

An aesthetic world emerges, situated between high-quality outdoor equipment and cheap beach-day products. Objects are created that promise a function through their functional design but are doomed to fail - simple, romanticized objects that remind us of nature but could be just as far removed from it. What often remains is merely a shell of something that no longer exists or perhaps never did.

Oni Weber obtained her diploma in Textile Arts in 2024 under Caroline Achaintre at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. In addition to other awards and scholarships, she received the Art Prize of the Saalesparkasse Foundation in 2025. Her works have recently been exhibited at the KV, Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Berlin and at the Garage Grande, Vienna.
