Residency scholarships at our partner organisations 2025
In 2025, the Friends of the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus e. V. and its national and international partners will once again be awarding exchange scholarships of several weeks' duration for Bavarian artists, composers, and writers in Germany and abroad:
Künstlerhaus Dortmund (Urban Meets Rural Residency), North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
Field: Visual Arts (particularly suitable for media art / post studio practice)
Duration of stay: 4 weeks
Period: March 2025
Villa Paula, Klatovy, Czech Republic
Fields: Fine Arts and Literature
Duration of stay: 4 weeks
Period: February 24 to March 23, 2025
Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA), Virginia, USA
Fields: Fine Arts, Literature and Composition
Duration of stay: 6 weeks
Period: April 14 to May 29 / October 1 to November 16, 2025
Königshain Castle, Görlitz, Germany
Field: Fine Arts
Duration of stay: 4 weeks
Period: May 14 to June 17, 2025
Plüschow Castle, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany

Duration of stay: 4 weeks
Period: April 2025
All partner residencies will provide free accommodation and studios/workspaces. The scholarship holder will receive a daily allowance for meals equivalent to approx. 18 € (local currency), alternatively a canteen will provide meals for the artists. Exceptions are the partner residencies in Dortmund and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (neither daily allowance nor full board). Görlitz offers a higher scholarship amount. Travel costs are not covered.
Eligibility requirements: Freelance artist/writer/composer with residence in or with a significant connection to Bavaria, no age limit. Applicants who have already received a scholarship in the past may reapply after three years.
