The studio of our current artist-in-residence artist Andrea Werner from Görlitz / Berlin will be open at the International Künstlerhaus in Fronberg on November 24 from 2 to 5 pm.

Andrea Werner was born in Görlitz in 1978 and grew up in Upper Lusatia. As a teenager, she experienced the emptiness after the collapse of the GDR and filled it by occupying herself with pictures, music and literature. At the end of the nineties, she went to Berlin to study, where she still lives today. The energies and movements of the big city are present in her pictures. Man blends in and finds himself in a dialogue with nature. But what is nature today?

“If we could open up people, we would find landscapes.”
Agnes Varda, director

Inspired by this quote, Andrea Werner asks herself about her own inner landscape and what it would look like. In daily drawings in her sketchbook and also on canvas in oil, she shows a part of her search without a clear result, without determination or assignment to the familiar.

Venue: Internationales Künstlerhaus, Maximilianstr. 10, 92421 Schwandorf

Admission is free.
