The two artists Hana Sommerová and Karolína Šulcová from the Czech Republic have been guests at the International Artist House in Schwandorf since the beginning of April. During their Open Studios on Saturday, 19 April 2025 from 14:00 to 17:00, they will present their recently created artworks to the public and are looking forward to welcoming numerous interested visitors.
Hana Sommerová, born in 1996, lives and works in Prague, where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2022. Fascinated by the beauty and power of living conciously in the moment, she uses expressive colors in her works, bringing them to life with light brushstrokes. Sommerová's motifs range from vast landscapes to interiors and views from windows; through her works, she attempts to capture and artistically preserve the emotions and impressions of these special places. In addition to participating in various residencies, her works have already gained attention in numerous exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, Sommerová is the organizer of her own art symposium "Artoleč" in South Bohemia.
Karolína Šulcová, born in 1997, also resides in Prague where she recently graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. In her works, time plays a central role which she perceives as light and delicate. Her paintings, abstracted from themes such as the complexity of the cosmos, explore both landscapes and architecture combined with a gentle melancholy that she allows to flow onto the canvas. Šulcová's works do not only teach the act of seeing but also invite viewers to a personal interpretation, allowing for an exploration of the enigmatic nature of her art. So far, her works have been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic as well as internationally.
