Through the international exchange program of the Friends of the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus, three guest artists are currently living and working at the residence in Fronberg: Karina Synytsia from the Ukraine (Visual Arts), Hyundo Lee from South Korea (Visual Arts) and Pauline Mornet from the USA (Performance).

On Saturday, 09 August 2025, the artists will open their studios from 14:00 to 17:00 and warmly invite art enthusiasts to take a look at their latest works.

At 16:00, resident Pauline Mornet will present her performance MEMORY HOUSE.

Karina Synytsia was born in 1999 in the Luhansk region and currently lives and works in Kyiv. She graduated in painting with a focus on monumental painting and panel works. In her art, she explores the influence of emptiness, vacuum and transience on architectural structures and landscapes to express human emotions and social aspects of life. Her works have been exhibited in various group and solo exhibitions in the Ukraine.

Hyundo Lee studies contemporary art at Dong-A University in Busan. His artistic technique involves applying and scraping different layers of paint using sandpaper, sanders and cutters. Traces of time, human movements and emotions leave marks on the surfaces, creating a dialogue between art and life, between himself and others. His works have been shown in several group exhibitions in Korea and Japan.

Pauline Mornet, born in 1999, lives and works in the Bay Area, California. She is currently doing a PhD in Performance Studies at Stanford University. Her artistic focus is on live performance, which includes sounds, movements and poetry. She is particularly fascinated by the political implications that arise from deliberate sensory confusion. Over the past ten years, she has gained experience in international performance projects, with her award-winning piece "Titre Provisoire" being performed in France multiple times.

The artists and the team at Kebbel Villa are looking forward to your visit!
