Clifford Garstang is a fiction writer based in the US state of Virginia. He is the author of three novels, most recently THE LAST BIRD OF PARADISE, and three collections of short stories. He is also the co-founder and former editor of Prime Number Magazine, a publication of Press 53, and the editor of the three-volume anthology series, EVERYWHERE STORIES: SHORT FICTION FROM A SMALL PLANET. Garstang's work has appeared in numerous literary magazines and he has been recognized with awards and fellowships from the Sewanee Writers Conference, the Library of Virginia, Indiana Humanities, the Ragdale Foundation, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and elsewhere.

A former international lawyer based in Southeast Asia, much of Garstang's work has an international focus, including his current work in progress, which is a literary thriller that takes the protagonist through several Asian countries. He is particularly interested in the ways in which travel and exposure can alter a person's perceptions of and interactions with other cultures.
