The multi-award-winning pianist and composer Laura Konjetzky, who was born and raised in Munich, has made a name for herself through her expressive piano playing and her subtle musical aesthetic. She completed her studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Basel University of Music. As a recipient of the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize, she made several recordings for Bayerischer Rundfunk. Solo performances followed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, France, Spain, Romania, Turkey, and China. Her own works include compositions for solo piano, chamber music, and music for dance and theater. In her solo program as part of the Golden October, works by Philip Glass, Yann Tiersen, and Astor Piazzolla engage in a fascinating dialogue with Laura Konjetzky’s own compositions, which she brings to life in her dual role as pianist and composer. Laura Konjetzky will introduce her program and explain her selection of works to the audience.
