The Béla Kovács Duo was founded in Madrid by the clarinettist Irene Ces and the pianist, conductor and composer Manuel Tévar. Both musicians have had impressive international careers. Manuel Tévar has also previously appeared as a soloist in a piano recital at Golden October. The duo’s outstanding quality has taken the two artists to numerous concert series and festivals at home and abroad, including performances at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Lake Como Festival. At the Golden October, they will showcase their musical versatility with works by Brahms, Schubert, Piazzolla, Mancini, Morricone and the Norwegian band Secret Garden – a wonderfully varied opening to the new festival season in Schwandorf.
