VIOLIN CONCERTOS
by Anna Tyshayeva and Michel Gershwin
The French violinist Michel Gershwin was awarded the Grand Prix at the International David Oistrakh Competition. He performs as a soloist, in a duo with Anna Tyshayeva, and as first violinist of the Gershwin Quartet and the Franck Piano Quintet throughout Europe, the USA, Brazil, Argentina and Asia. His chamber music partners include, amongst others, Giora Feidman, Nigel Kennedy, Ute Lemper, Misha Majsky, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Grigory Gruzman and Igor Oistrach. He is a regular guest at renowned festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, the International KLAVIERFEST Eppstein, the Massenet Festival in St. Etienne and the Lucerne Festival. At the Golden October, he will present works for violin and orchestra, some of which he has arranged himself. He will be accompanied by Anna Tyshayeva, who is no stranger to Schwandorf following an acclaimed piano recital as part of Golden October. The German-Ukrainian pianist was a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, has won numerous awards at international piano competitions and has been described by the press as a ‘poet at the grand piano’.
