No other band has left such a profound mark, both musically and socially, as the Beatles. The biggest stars from the worlds of pop and classical music cite them as influential role models. Yet it is not their record sales or number-one hits, but the timelessness of their songs that ensures they remain as popular as ever, generation after generation.
A lifelong passion for these songs also unites guitarist Philipp Stauber and bassist Sven Faller, who have known each other for over 30 years.
In this special programme, the two exceptional musicians aim to get to the heart of the magic of their favourite songs and explore the often surprising stories behind them – such as the fact that the song ‘Yesterday’ was originally called ‘Scrambled Eggs’, or that John Lennon thought ‘Let It Be’ sounded too religious.
